CEO, Altitude Management Consulting
Evelyn Akselrod is the CEO of Altitude, a management consulting firm focused on helping good organizations become great by aligning their purpose, people and profits for greater impact.
After more than 15 years in nonprofit employment services, Evelyn left operational management as she recognized the need to create stronger cross-sectorial collaborations and leadership initiatives that could help solve disruptions caused by the future of work.
While Evelyn enjoys helping organizations on business improvement and transformation, it is her passion for workforce development that fuels her strategic work. She is committed to sharing insights and strategies with employment service providers as they rise to the challenges associated with both the future of work as well as the future of the sector.
The landscape of the employment services sector is being widely disrupted, not only by our funders but by major automation and labour shifts happening across industries. Increasingly, the economic and political climate requires that the employment sector becomes agile and highly responsive to industry partners as a way to solve challenges for job seekers. Traditional job readiness training is quickly becoming irrelevant. This session will explore ways in which employment service providers can shift from a job preparation model to a workforce development framework. We will look at the core competencies and strategic leadership required by organizations in order to transform service delivery, partnerships and potential funding relationships that will effectively support the future of work.
